Beginning with Science and Mother Nature
Meet Andrew Lessman.
ProCaps Laboratories was founded in 1979 by Andrew Lessman with a simple belief: if you follow the science, respect Mother Nature and eliminate shortcuts, better health follows.
At a time when supplements were poorly made and lightly regulated, Andrew began formulating additive-free vitamins for athletes, doctors and other health professionals who cared about quality, not marketing.
There were no fillers to bulk out a capsule, no binders or glues holding a tablet together, no additives in products doing anything other than what the label promised. Just the nutrients themselves, in forms the body could actually absorb and use, at doses the science supported.
That approach still defines the company today.
But science never stands still. As nutritional research evolved, the supplements available to support it did not. Many lacked quality, balance or scientific grounding, and were products Andrew wouldn’t recommend or use himself.
So, he continued following the research wherever it led, and reformulating to meet it rather than settling for what the market offered or what was cheapest.
Leading with facts,
not sensationalism
From the beginning, ProCaps Laboratories grew by explaining the science.
After all, the best product in the world means very little if people don’t understand why it’s made the way it is.
People will listen to an honest, respectful presentation without the hype, the urgency or the exaggerated claims the industry so often leans on. We all simply want the facts presented clearly enough to decide for ourselves.
For over 36 years, Andrew has used HSN and QVC to educate a dedicated audience about health, wellness and the science of supplementation. He chose to go on air without scripts, teleprompters or exaggerations, rather than hire a spokesperson or borrow a celebrity’s credibility.
The goal was never to sell products, but to help people understand their own health.
Quality you can’t outsource
Andrew made a deliberate decision early on to manufacture his supplements himself — without contract manufacturers.
He realized that quality could only be preserved by manufacturing directly and controlling every step of development and production. This includes everything from the design of a formula to the raw materials we source, from manufacturing to the quality testing that confirms it, all under one roof.
Every product is designed and made in-house, in our own facility. While doing so requires more work and is more expensive, it’s the only way to preserve quality without exception.
Still, quality isn’t only about what’s in the product. It’s also about how we make it. Our Henderson, Nevada facility runs on 100% solar power — one of the largest private solar-powered manufacturing operations of its kind — with a zero-carbon footprint.
Respecting your health and respecting the world we all share requires a refusal to cut corners, whether anyone is watching or not.

Today: Same principles,
same standards
More than 45 years later, our principles haven’t changed. ProCaps Laboratories remains owned by its founder and manufactures its supplements in-house.
In an industry defined by acquisitions, outside investors and outsourced production, that independence is rare and deliberate. It’s what allows the standard set in 1979 to remain today, because no board and no shareholders have ever sat between the science and the finished product.
Pure and additive‑free by design
Our products contain exactly what the label says and nothing else.
- No fillers.
- No binders.
- No unnecessary additives.
When a formula is built around what the body can absorb and use, there’s no room for anything that doesn’t belong there.
Four decades in – with lasting impact
Doing things the better way leaves a mark in numbers you can count and a footprint you can measure.
